The challenge
Stone needed to upgrade their existing website with CMS
technology that would also integrate with their internal production
and EPR systems. The project was time critical and required Signals
to work closely with Stone management and IT in order to analyse
the business and data needs. The project also coincided with a
company rebrand which required the solution to be as flexible as
possible due to the number of unknowns in the early phases.
The solution
After a period of consultancy Signals developed a hybrid open
source CMS which tightly integrated with Stone's existing
infrastructure using a blend of .Net, PHP, SQLServer and MySQL
technology. We also developed an admin tool that enabled Stone
Account Managers to create new products for the site and bespoke
home pages for logged in users.
The new site releases the potential previously locked in the
internal systems. This value improved the experience for customers,
sales staff, and marketing.
