Epson (UK), is part of the Seiko Epson Corporation; a global manufacturer of printers, computers, cameras and other technology products.

In 2004, the company launched a unique social experiment to document the daily domestic life of the UK's 'Most Typical Family'. The idea was to capture every moment of typical family life over 100 days, though a daily journal and a continuous stream of photographs published on a special web site

When Epson set about choosing a web partner for the project, Signals stepped into the frame. Signals developed the logo and web site, plus an online competition where families could apply to become the 'Epson Family'.

The chosen family were given an online editorial tool that allowed them to update the website themselves. As you would expect, the system was built in such a way that all content went to Epson for approval before going live.

The result? A huge amount of publicity for Epson and a unique insight to typical family life in the UK, all made possible by bespoke technology that was easy enough for the whole family to use!
