Xerox is a world-leading manufacturer of printers, copiers and multifunction systems and offers the largest single range in the industry.
With so many models and options to choose from – at the last count there were more than 600 different configurations – Xerox's resellers were finding it time-consuming and complicated to select the right, orderable combination. Xerox turned to Signals for a faster, more efficient way of doing things.
The Signals development team created the Product Configurator: a software tool to help sales people in select the correct configurations that meet their customer's needs. Written in five languages, the Product Configurator is a small and simple download that deployed via the Xerox Extranet.
All a reseller has to do is to select a base model and choose from the options that are presented on screen. And because there's no chance of specifying unworkable combinations, it means that the number of incorrect orders received by Xerox has been dramatically reduced.
The result? Less confusion, fewer errors and a faster, more efficient way for Xerox's resellers to choose exactly the right combination of features and options to meet their customers' precise needs.
