Xerox - e-Learning online
Xerox is a world-leading manufacturer of printers, copiers and multifunction systems and offers the largest single range in the industry. The company is also renowned for the effectiveness of its staff training.
Following on from the successful delivery of a series of multilingual training CD-ROMs spanning Xerox’s extensive product range, Xerox was keen to distribute this training content online as part of it’s training and accreditation scheme.
The existing CD-ROM content, which was divided into several easy-to-digest sections, included product positioning statements, features and benefits, competitive information, virtual product demonstrations, all needed to be made available in a small, easily downloadable format.
Signals’ solution was to quickly re-purpose the existing e-learning content into specific per product, per language modules. Graphics, animation and translated text were easily adapted from the CD-ROM program into a Macromedia Flash format, the most popular online media format for animated, interactive content.
In total, over fifty separate Flash modules were deployed to the Xerox Training and Accreditation website. Xerox sales representatives and resellers login and access the training materials and participate in online tests.
The result? Thanks to Signals, Xerox has been able to efficiently re-purpose offline e-learning content in an online format.
