The King is dead...
Adobe announced their withdrawal from the Flash Player browser plug-in for mobile operating systems including Android and BlackBerry (it was never supported on iOS); we all very well know that they are the future of interactive media. Steve Jobs was right at that point. The architecture of mobile browsers and limited device performance were the biggest nails in mobile Flash Player's coffin. Mobile browsers and Flash Player were biting each other for CPU and RAM resources and that is the reason why web pages made with Flash were so jiggy. We have to note that Flash Player for desktops has never been better, with its Stage3D support for GPU. Adobe will continue to support it.
...long live the King
This move was well planned by Adobe. They managed to change their best racing horse. Its name is AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime). Basically, think about it as a browser for apps which is embedded within the apps themselves, so they are self-sufficient and can grab native system and device functionalities. The most surprising thing is that AIR apps are written in same ActionScript 3.0, which is used for bespoke Flash Player, but it requires the best coding skills thanks to a lack of CPU power in comparison to desktops.
So... it is clear that future is mobile and AIR is everywhere. Signals can teach you how to breathe with it!
